Materials
100% wool felt, pressed to 5mm, from a mill in the northeast. Wool is used rather than a synthetic because it recovers its thickness after something heavy has sat on it, and because it does not shine where a wrist rests.
Care
Lift dust off with a lint roller or a stiff brush. A spill blots out with a dry cloth pressed straight down — rubbing works it into the fibre. Wool is naturally water-repellent for the first minute or so, which is usually all the time you need.
